Vinous

The 2020 Enclos Tourmaline is a big, big wine. Blackberry jam, espresso, bittersweet chocolate, incense, tobacco and sweet French oak all race across the palate. This deep, brooding Pomerol packs a serious punch. The tannins, which were a bit intense en primeur, have started to integrate nicely. 12/2022

Vinous

The 2020 Enclos Tourmaline has an opulent bouquet with cassis, blueberry and violet scents, perhaps just missing the delineation of some of the top tier Pomerols. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, pure black fruit laced with rosemary and truffle, white pepper emerging towards the finish that is slightly candied. Thoroughly enjoyable, but it needs 4-5 years in bottle. 12/2022

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

A broad, ripe, expressive wine, the 2020 Enclos Tourmaline offers up aromas of cherries and plums mingled with licorice and toasty new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, expansive, fleshy palate. This is a rich, broad-shouldered wine from holdings on the plateau respectively located between Le Pin and Trotanoy, opposite Clinet, and opposite the château of La Fleur-Pétrus. 04/2023

James Suckling

This is pure merlot, with black chocolate, bark, black truffle, ripe plum, and violets. Some black olives. This is very structured and linear with super fine tannins that run very, very long. Dense silky texture. Less than 3,000 bottles made. 1.1 hectares in total. Needs five to six years of bottle age. Try after 2027. 11/2023
