Vinous

The 2010 Montlandrie is missing some complexity on the somewhat monotone nose that lacks the personality of its peers. Ripe dark cherries and tobacco, but there is not much else. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, lightly spiced red fruit mixed with pain d’épices and sage, but here I feel there is too much dryness on the finish, which makes me concerned about future development. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. April 2020

Bright, dark red. Expressive nose melds black cherry, licorice, menthol, graphite, mocha and chocolate. Pliant and smooth in the mouth, with a saline nuance to the dark fruit flavors. Finishes with substantial dusty, building tannins and a slight warmth. Could use a bit more definition and lift. Juli 2013

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Montlandrie reveals a nose of prunes, dried mulberries and blackberry compote with touches of fried herbs, unsmoked cigar, cedar chest and crushed rocks. The full-bodied palate is firm and chewy with just enough freshness to lift the dried fruit and earthy layers to a long finish. März 2020
