Medium ruby. Roasted, porty aromas of prune and damp earth. Fat, sweet and lush, with rather low acidity, but also quite tannic and heavily extracted. Rather musclebound today. Even allowing for the possibility that this sample is low on SO2, I don't find a lot of charm here. 05/2001

A big, backward, full-bodied Pomerol, the 2000 Gazin appears to have added weight as well as structure. Still young, it exhibits beautiful notes of sandy, loamy soil intermixed with mulberries, black cherries, cedar, and licorice. Tightly wound, powerful, and rich, with noticeable oak, it needs another 3-5 years of bottle age, and should drink well for two decades. 06/2010
